Five-star recruit Jayden Quaintance has verbally committed to Kentucky, choosing the Wildcats over Missouri. The 6-foot-10, 225-pound center, ranked as the No. 8 prospect in the Class of 2024, signed his National Letter of Intent soon after announcing his commitment.
Quaintance, a senior from Cleveland attending Word of God Christian Academy in Raleigh, North Carolina, is the first five-star player in Kentucky’s 2024 class, joining signees Boogie Fland and Somoto Cyril, as well as verbal commit Travis Perry.
Initially part of the Class of 2025, Quaintance reclassified to the Class of 2024, making him ineligible for the NBA Draft until 2026.
With Quaintance choosing Kentucky, Missouri now has one scholarship spot open on the 2024-25 roster. The Tigers may consider adding a high school senior or leaving the spot open for someone in the transfer portal. The early signing period is set to end Wednesday, with the regular signing period running from April 17 to May 15.
