The Missouri Tigers, winners of six straight games and 7 of their last 10, play in first-round action this (Tuesday) afternoon in the Southeastern Conference Baseball Tournament, battling the Aggies of Texas A&M.

‘The 1 o’clock game will be televised nationwide on the SEC Network, and features a much improved Mizzou team that has a #10 seed.  Texas A&M is seeded 7th.  Under first-year coach Steve Bieser, MU went 35-21, amassing its most victories in a single season since 2009 (35).

Now considered a “bubble” team for inclusion in the NCAA Tournament, the Tigers will go with junior ace right-hander Tanner Houck in the Tuesday game.  In two previous starts in the SEC Tournament, Houck is 0-2 with a 3.86 ERA and 14 strikeouts.

The SEC baseball tournament is being held in Hoover, Alabama, a suburb of Birmingham.  The tournament winner gets an automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament.
