The University of Missouri football program got a quick start on its 2022 recruiting on Monday night, with in-state tight end Max Whisner becoming the first commitment out of this year’s junior class to the Tigers. Whisner is a three-star product from Lee’s Summit High School, southeast of Kansas City, choosing the Tigers over Arkansas and Nebraska. He stands 6-feet, 6 inches tall. Whisner announced his decision for Mizzou via Twitter.

Rivals ranks Whisner, among the Class of 2022, as the #2 tight end in Missouri and #14 player overall. Missouri offered on July 13th to Whisner, who attends the same high school as Denver Broncos starting quarterback and former Missouri Tiger Drew Lock. Tight end is among the positions that coach Eliah Drinkwitz is finding success at in his early recruiting efforts at Mizzou, with two tight ends ready to sign in the 2021 class, with in-state product Ryan Hoerstkamp and Gavin McKay from the state of Tennessee.
