The Missouri Tiger football program, heading into the summer, is looking to improve its recruiting haul for 2018, as coming into Friday morning, with only two commits, MU’s class was ranked last in the SEC.
Coach Barry Odom made progress with the class on Friday, as Jalen Knox, an ESPN four-star prospect from Timberview High School in Arlington, Texas, tweeted his verbal commitment to the Tigers.
Knox, as a junior, had seven touchdowns, with a combined 684 yards as a running back and slot-back. Â He chose Mizzou over offers from Kansas, Wisconsin, Baylor, Duke, Illinois, Iowa State, Oregon State, and Utah. Â He is the first commitment for MU since Alabama high school quarterback James Foster of Montgomery gave his pledge. Â The only other commit in Missouri’s 2018 class is wide receiver Harry Ballard of Jones County Junior College in Mississippi.
