Mizzou opens 2017 camp without two freshman receivers

In his first press conference of the 2017 season, University of Missouri football coach Barry Odom that two true freshmen, part of the program’s 2017 recruiting class, will not be available to the team, with in-state product Da’Ron Davis failing to qualify at MU, requiring him to go the junior college route to begin his collegiate career.

Davis was the first commitment in Odom’s 2017 recruiting class, and was rated a four-star prospect by both Rivals.com and ESPN.

Fellow true freshman O’Shae Clark of Cyrus, Texas has been suspended by Odom for what was described as a “violation of team rules”.  The suspension length is described as “indefinite”.  Clark, as a senior was a Texas Class 6a first-team All-State selection, with 70 catches for 1,736 yards and 18 touchdowns.

Missouri opens the season with an 11 AM kickoff against the Missouri State Bears at Memorial Stadium in Columbia on Saturday, September 2nd.
