The University of Missouri will not be bringing back baseball coach Steve Bieser as leader of the Tiger program for 2024, after a 30-24 season that saw Mizzou eliminated in the first round of the SEC Tournament by Auburn. While Bieser leaves MU with an overall record of 188-155-1, many of those wins came in non-conference action. Trying to gain traction in the Southeastern Conference has proved difficult for Missouri, with the Tigers going 10-20 in league play in 2023.
In a news release, athletics director Desiree Reed-Francois explained, “Baseball is important to our university, our conference, and our state. We understand the vital role baseball plays, and we are committed to further increasing our investment in the program and look forward to future successes.”
Mizzou has announced that a “national search” to find the next head baseball coach to begin immediately.
