On Friday night, the Missouri Tiger basketball program found an immediate opening for the roster spot opened by the medical retirement of Cullen VanLeer, as 6 foot, 5 inch small forward Christian Guess of Cleveland, Ohio (Shaker Heights High School) gave a verbal commitment to MU Head Coach Cuonzo Martin.  Following the verbal commitment of Friday night, the Missouri program officially announced Guess’ signing on Saturday.

Joining MU over offers from Toledo, Kent State, and Ohio, Guess will be immediately eligible to play for the Tigers in 2018-2019.  He was receiving interest from West Virginia University and DePaul University before his decision to attend MU.

As a senior at Shaker Heights, Guess averaged 26.2 points per game, earning second-team Cleveland.com Fab 50 All-Star recognition.
