Running back Cody Schrader ran for 159 yards and two touchdowns in earning Southeastern Conference offensive player of the week honors, while the Missouri Tiger defense sacked South Carolina’s Spencer Rattler six times, in a 34-12 win for MU on Saturday from Memorial Stadium in Columbia, Missouri.

The Tigers have a 7-1 record, the program’s best start since 2013.  Brady Cook had a pedestrian day on the numbers front, throwing 24 times, completing 14 passes for 198 yards and a touchdown, while running for another score.  Luther Burden III had four catches for 90 yards and a touchdown.

The Missouri defense had its strongest performance of the season, not allowing a touchdown for the first time since a 41-0 win over Vanderbilt on November 28, 2020.  The Tigers stopped South Carolina on 10 of 13 third-down conversions.

Missouri will have this week off, before traveling to Athens, Georgia to play the #1 ranked Bulldogs at 2:30 on Saturday, November 4th.  The game will air on CBS, and be available on the Learfield-based Tiger Network, including KTTN FM 92.3, with pregame at 12:30.
