Two former conference rivals, going back to the days of the Big 8 Conference, will play one another to open the basketball season, as the Missouri Tigers will duel with the Iowa State Cyclones in a home-and-home series, announced on Thursday.

Missouri will host ISU on November 10, 2017 at Mizzou Arena in Columbia, followed by the trip to Hilton Coliseum in Ames for the rematch on November 9, 2018.

The two games will mark the 234th and 235th all-time meeting between the border rivals, with Missouri only playing archrival Kansas (267) and Kansas State (235) more in program history.  The Tigers have a 149-84 all-time series advantage against Iowa State.

Before the school’s move to the Southeastern Conference, MU won its last nine meetings with the Cyclones, including a 78-72 win in Columbia on February 29, 2012, featuring two Top-20 ranked squads.
