The University of Missouri has grabbed its eighth commitment in the Class of 2023, with Lee’s Summit High School senior wideout Joshua Manning announcing a pledge to the in-state Tigers on Thursday night.
Manning is ranked a four-star prospect by 247Sports, the top-ranked receiver in the senior class and eighth-overall prospect in the class for the state of Missouri. He chose Mizzou over offers from the likes of Arkansas, Kansas State, and Nebraska.
Last fall, as a junior, Manning had 69 catches for 900 yards and 11 touchdowns for LSHS. Prior to Manning’s commitment, the Tigers had struggled in this year’s recruiting cycle with in-state talent, as Manning becomes just the second player in Missouri’s high school top 10 to commit to Mizzou, joining tight end Brett Norfleet. In comparison, MU snagged six of the top 10 in-state products for the Class of 2022.
