Missouri football’s recruiting streak continues with the addition of former SMU offensive tackle Marcus Bryant. Bryant announced his decision to transfer to MU on Wednesday, becoming the fifth commitment for coach Eli Drinkwitz in April and the first from the transfer portal.
Bryant, a 6-foot-7, 318-pounder, was a standout at SMU, starting 29 games and earning first-team All-AAC honors in 2023. He was highly sought after, visiting Washington, Mississippi State, and TCU before choosing Mizzou.
Bryant’s addition shakes up the Tigers’ offensive line, with several players vying for the right guard spot. Oklahoma transfer Cayden Green, who started at left tackle during the spring, could move to right guard, while Armand Membou, recruited as a guard, could also make the switch.
Regardless of how the positions play out, Bryant brings valuable experience and size to the table, with the potential to elevate Mizzou’s offensive line to one of the best in the SEC.
