The Missouri men’s basketball team is scheduled to face off against Pittsburgh in the inaugural ACC/SEC Challenge, as announced by the conferences on Wednesday. This highly anticipated game from the Petersen Events Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania will feature two NCAA Tournament teams from the previous season meeting for the first time on the basketball court. The match is set to take place on Tuesday, November 28, with a 6 p.m. CT tip-off. The network broadcasting the game will be announced at a later date.
Missouri had a successful 2022-23 campaign, securing 25 victories, the most they have achieved in 11 seasons. Notably, they claimed their first NCAA Tournament victory in 13 years and made history by advancing to the SEC Tournament Semifinals for the first time ever. As they enter the upcoming season, the Tigers will have the advantage of returning two starters from their previous team. Additionally, they have bolstered their roster by adding a top-five transfer class and a top-30 freshman class.
Pittsburgh had an impressive 2022-23 season, finishing with a 24-12 record and a notable 14-6 mark in ACC play. Their performance placed them third in the conference standings and earned them their first NCAA Tournament bid since 2016. During the tournament, the Panthers displayed their prowess by defeating Mississippi State and Iowa State before succumbing to Xavier in the second round.
