Missouri ranked #11 in AP preseason poll

The University of Missouri is ranked #11 in Monday morning’s Associated Press preseason college football poll.  The Tigers, coming off of an 11-2 season that culminated with a Cotton Bowl victory over Ohio State.  The ranking represents the highest for Missouri since Gary Pinkel’s last season in 2015, and the highest in the tenure of Eliah Drinkwitz at Mizzou.  MU opens the season against Murray State on Thursday, August 29th at 7 o’clock on the SEC Network.

The University of Georgia is ranked #1 in the poll, with 1,532 points and 46 first-place votes, followed by Big Ten traditional power Ohio State in the second position and Big 10 newcomer Oregon in third place.  The Buckeyes have 13 first-place votes with the Ducks one.  Southeastern Conference newcomer Texas is ranked fourth, followed by Alabama and Ole Miss.  Notre Dame is ranked 7th, followed by Penn State, Michigan, and Florida State.
