Tori Finucane, the SEC’s freshman of the year in 2014, has announced a transfer to the University of Minnesota, where she will pitch for the Golden Gophers for her senior season.

The native of Germantown, Maryland joins Paige Lowary as pitchers leaving the Tigers program.  Lowary, the Mizzou ace last spring, departed for the University of Oklahoma.

Missouri Head Coach Ehren Earleywine has been under investigation for issues concerning Title IX.  Seven players who were on the Missouri softball roster at the start of the 2016 season are now gone.  Joining Lowary and Finucane on that list are utility player Erin Gilliland, outfielder Sara Harvey, outfielder Morgan Walters, infielder Chase Nelson, and infielder Sydney Sprague.

Of the three pitchers remaining at Mizzou, the most recognizable to the local area is Cheyenne Baxter, a senior pitcher from Norborne who has had a successful career at Mizzou after a transfer from Omaha, but not yet in a front-of-the-rotation starting role  The other two twirlers are sophomore Danielle Baumgartner and highly-touted freshman Parker Conrad.
