Missouri football looks to rebound from its third road loss this season, a 34-30 defeat against South Carolina on Saturday, when it faces Mississippi State at 3:15 p.m. Saturday at Davis Wade Stadium in Starkville, Mississippi.
The Tigers (7-3, 3-3 Southeastern Conference) haven’t lost consecutive games since 2022, when they fell to Kentucky (21-17) and then-No. 6 Tennessee (66-24) on Nov. 5 and Nov. 12, respectively.
Under coach Eli Drinkwitz, Missouri has consistently bounced back from tough losses. However, with the Tigers playing their second straight SEC road game, pressure mounts.
Missouri hasn’t faced Mississippi State (2-8, 0-6) since a 51-32 road loss on Dec. 19, 2020.
“The last time we went to Starkville, we didn’t play well,” Drinkwitz said Tuesday. “It’s a challenging road environment and game for us.”
Redshirt senior center Drake Heismeyer added, “Last time we played them, we got distracted by their record and got beat.”
A win would improve Missouri to 8-3 and keep alive its hopes for a second consecutive 10-win season.
