A transfer from Milwaukee, DeAndre Gholston, has announced a commitment to the University of Missouri, making his decision public via Twitter on Saturday.

Gholston joins Garden City Community College center Mohamed Diarra in becoming the first commits for new coach Dennis Gates at MU.  Diarra, the top-ranked JUCO player in the country, according to jucorecruiting.com, announced a commitment to the Tigers on Friday.

Gholston, in the 2021-2022 season at Milwaukee, averaged 14.3 points per game.  He played two seasons for the Panthers, after starting his career at Kent State and spending one season at Tallahassee Community College.

Missouri is also in the mix for the #2 juco recruit in the country, as Sean East was reported to be on the campus on Columbia on Saturday for a visit.
