Missouri basketball has secured its first commitment for the 2024 recruiting class. T.O. Barrett, a talented combo guard, announced his decision to play college basketball at Missouri on Thursday. He shared the news on social media, alongside Joe Tipton of On3 Sports.

Barrett, currently a four-star recruit according to the 247Sports composite rankings, will spend his senior year at the Link Academy in Branson after transferring there. Prior to this move, he played for Edmonds North in Oklahoma, where he won two consecutive state titles.

As part of the Nike EYBL circuit with MOKAN Elite, Barrett has been showcasing his skills. He will be competing with his team in the Peach Jam tournament in July in Atlanta. In his time with MOKAN Elite, Barrett has averaged 9.2 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game. He has also displayed a positive assist-to-turnover ratio and recorded 22 steals in 17 games.

Barrett chose Missouri over offers from Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Missouri State, and others. According to 247Sports, he is ranked as the No. 93 player nationally in the composite rankings, the No. 13 combo guard, and the sixth-best player in the state of Missouri for the 2024 class.

Standing at six feet, four inches tall and weighing 180 pounds, Barrett is the first commitment for Missouri head coach Dennis Gates in the 2024 class. With seven players set to graduate after the 2023-24 season, Coach Gates is likely to add more recruits to the roster.
