The Milan Wildcats and Plattsburg Tigers locked up on Friday night at Cal Hubbard Field, with the ‘Cats hopeful that an increase in experience, combined with superior athleticism, would lead to a strong start for the 2018 season.

If one night is an indication, the ‘Cats could be primed for a run at the Grand River Conference championship, as John Dabney’s crew was sharp in a 41-14 win at Cal Hubbard Field, broadcast on KTTN FM 92.3:

Fullback Jamuel Pagan established Milan’s punishing rushing attack with 28 carries for 141 yards and two touchdowns, with sophomore running back Dominic Dabney scoring twice, with 84 yards on 16 carries.  Junior quarterback Ryan Dabney completed six of ten passing attempts, with Dre Morehead catching a touchdown pass.

Milan, 1-0 on the season, will host the Mark Twain Tigers in a Week 2 tussle on Friday night at 7 o’clock, while Plattsburg, under first-year coach Jeff Wallace, will host Sumner Academy of Kansas City, Kansas on Friday night.
