The Milan High School basketball teams have had fine starts to the 2018-2019 basketball seasons, including season-opening victories over Novinger on Monday, November 19th, and opening round pool play victories in the first night of the Tri-Rivers Classic at Schuyler County.
The Lady Wildcats of Coach Nathan Simler, with the addition of a pair of sisters from Schuyler County, and ultra-talented freshman Kady Pauley, could be the most improved girls team in the region, while the Milan boys are ranked #2 in the state in Class 2, yet to be seriously threatened in their unbeaten start.
On the first coaches interviews of the season, originally aired on Friday, November 30th on KTTN FM 92.3, we spoke with Coach Simler about a 20-point loss to Knox County that dropped Milan’s girls into the consolation final at Queen City, and with Coach Dabney about the Wildcat boys impressive start, and a preview of Saturday night’s tournament title game against Clark County.
