The Milan football team opens the season on Friday night, traveling to northeast Missouri to play the Class 1 state-ranked Mark Twain Tigers, who had an 8-1 regular season one year ago.
The Wildcats scrimmaged against Kirksville, Princeton, and Putnam County last Friday night in a jamboree at Cal Hubbard Field. Â Coach John Dabney reports that freshman Ryan Dabney is expected to be the starting quarterback for Milan when the Wildcat offense breaks the huddle on Friday night.
Here is the interview with KTTN Sports Director Tom Johnson and Coach Dabney, scheduled to air at 5:40 on Thursday afternoon and during Friday night’s pregame show from Mark Twain High School on 92.3 FM:
Milan will have another stern test next week, hosting South Callaway on August 26th, before the first ever Grand River Conference contest for the Wildcats, hosting Princeton on September 2nd, on KTTN FM 92.3.
