More than half of the eight softball playing schools in the Grand River Conference’s eastern division will be in action this (Monday) afternoon, in jamboree action at Legion Field in Milan and the Ebbe Sports Complex in Trenton.  At the two sites, eight teams will congregate, with five of those (Trenton, Putnam County, Gallatin, Princeton, and Milan) in the new-look GRC.
At Milan, a jamboree featuring the host Lady Wildcats, the Princeton Lady Tigers, the Gallatin Lady Bulldogs, and the Scotland County Lady Tigers will start at 2 o’clock. Â Games will be three innings in length, with the order of the games going as Gallatin against Milan at 2 o’clock, followed by Princeton opposite Scotland County, Scotland County against Gallatin, Gallatin versus Princeton, Milan against former conference foe Scotland County, and Milan taking on Princeton. Â Just one field will be used at Milan, with the Milan Middle School team needing the second field for practice purposes.
The jamboree at Trenton starts at 5 o’clock, with the Lady Bulldogs hosting Schuyler County, Brookfield, and Putnam County. Â Both fields at the Ebbe Sports Complex (Griffin and Johnson) will be utilized, with Trenton playing all three of its games at Griffin Field. Â THS will take on Putnam County at 5:00, Brookfield at 6, and Schuyler County at 7.
Johnson Field will host three games at the same times, with Brookfield opposite Schuyler County at 5, Putnam and Schuyler dueling at 6, and Putnam and Brookfield battling at 7.
Admission for the Trenton jamboree will be $2.00. Â Admission prices are not known for the Milan jamboree. Â The Milan jamboree was originally scheduled for Friday afternoon, but pushed to Monday due to wet field conditions.
