With recruiting season in full swing, new North Central Missouri College softball coach Steve Richman is hitting the immediate footprint of the Lady Pirates program, gaining players recently from Lathrop (Haley Berghager) and Trenton (Jaylen Neff), with Milan’s Kenna Michael expected to join the North Central Class of 2017 on Monday. Â Neff will sign with the North Central program on Monday as well.
Michael, starting pitcher of the Lady ‘Cats softball program for the past four years, helped lead Milan to a third-place finish in the program’s first year in the Grand River Conference’s Eastern Division in 2016. Â Milan defeated Braymer on the road in the GRC’s crossover games in late September, securing the third place status (Braymer finished third in the GRC West).
Michael will be signing her letter of intent with North Central Missouri College on Monday (November 21st) at 12:30 in the Milan High School library. Kenna’s signing could be the first of multiple Lady Wildcat seniors to sign with softball programs at the collegiate level. Â North Central’s first signing under Coach Richman came from Mexico High School pitcher Mackenzie Robnett, a second-team all-state selection in 2016.
