On Saturday night, the Milan Wildcats achieved an early season goal, winning the Novinger Tournament championship with a victory over the Scotland County Tigers. In a quirk of the December schedule, the Wildcats next game came against the very same team, this time in Memphis.
While the final score was closer, the Wildcats again got the better of the Tigers, improving to 5-0 with a 62-54 victory. Eddie Gonzalez and Dominic Dabney both scored 14 points for Milan, as the ‘Cats now prepare for their Friday night home opener against the Schuyler County Rams.
The Scotland County girls picked up a non-conference victory over the Milan Lady Wildcats on Tuesday night, winning by a score of 61-27.
