The North Central Missouri College Pirates dominated the middle 15 minutes of Tuesday night’s men’s basketball game in Highland, Kansas, racing out to a 30-plus point lead five minutes in the second half and cruising to a 98-68 win over Highland Community College.Â
In a contest broadcast on KGOZ FM 101.7, a three-pronged offensive attack led the Pirates to the win. Returning sophomore All-American Tyler King had 29 points, including three made three-point baskets. Sophomore center Jon Carroll contributed 21 points with Camden Bennett adding 21 for North Central (2-0). Highland came into the game with a 2-0 record, with a Friday night win over the Ottawa JV (86-55) and a Sunday win over the Peru State JV (90-84). The Scotties struggled to slow the fifth-ranked Pirates combination of offensive skill and defensive intensity.Â
Rashad Kee led Highland with 19 points while Gavin Grubbs added 17.Â
