The Mercer girls and boys dominated play, in a pair of basketball victories at Princeton High School on Friday night, broadcast on KTTN FM 92.3. In the opener, the state-ranked (#3 in Class 1) Lady Cardinals used a balanced scoring effort to take down the Lady Tigers, 60-31. Bailey Owens had 20 points, Lindsay Wyatt 15, and Nicole Kost 12 points for Mercer, now 4-0 on the season, while Payton Goodin led Princeton with 13 points. The Lady Tigers drop to 2-4.
The boys game went to Mercer, by a final score of 65-41. Bryer Noe led the Cardinals with 22 points, while Cash Hartley added 18, and Hunter Shipley 11 for MHS, now 3-1 on the season. For Princeton, now 1-4 in the first season under Coach Damon Collins, picked up 12 points apiece from Cameron Jones and Andrew Smith, to go with 11 points from Blaine Millburn.
