The Mercer Cardinals are in a new event this week, with both teams #1 seeds in the South Harrison Tournament. The Lady Cardinals opener, won on Monday night, was played against Maysville, while the Mercer boys play North Harrison on Tuesday afternoon at 4:30 in a quarterfinal game.
Last week, Mercer opened the new calendar year with a home sweep of Southwest Livingston on KTTN FM 92.3, and followed up those victories with a pair of wins on Friday night at Newtown-Harris.
On Monday afternoon, Mercer coaches Dan Owens and Jeff Wyatt spoke about the current state of their teams, heading to Bethany this week, with KTTN Sports Director Tom Johnson. The shows aired at 3:30 on KTTN FM 92.3:
