The Mercer girls and boys had what can be considered good weeks at the Meadville Tournament, both advancing to Saturday evening’s championship games. However, a Cardinal team weakened by a stubborn flu bug making its way through the district lost to Meadville in the title game, with the Lady Cardinals falling to HDC rival Grundy County in the girls title game.
After the interview with Coach Wyatt, it was announced that Mercer’s HDC Conference games on Tuesday, scheduled at Winston, have been postponed due to the flu, with Mercer’s district, as a whole, cancelling classes entirety for Tuesday. At press time, the Cardinals home doubleheader with North Harrison for Thursday remains on as scheduled.
