The Mercer Cardinals, over the past two weeks, have won girls and boys championships in the South Harrison Tournament, defeating the rival Princeton Tigers in a pair of close games on Monday, January 14th, with victories to follow on Thursday, January 17th at Grundy R-5 of Galt. Saturday’s scheduled home games with Linn County were postponed by weather, sending both Mercer teams to the Meadville Tournament this week, with the Lady Cardinals controlling the #1 seed, while the Mercer boys, despite an impressive 12-2 record, are seeded #4 in a loaded field.
