The North Mercer Cardinals, in an all-HDC Conference boys quarterfinal at the South Harrison Tournament, beat the 7th-seeded North Harrison Shamrocks last (Tuesday) night, 62-38, advancing to a meeting with rival Princeton in the semifinals, Thursday night at 8:15.
In Tuesday night’s other boys game, top seeded Northeast Nodaway defeated the South Harrison JV 65-41, moving the Blue Jays opposite South Harrison in a 5:45 boys semifinal on Thursday night from Bethany.
In girls quarterfinal action on Tuesday night, the Northeast Nodaway Lady ‘Jays downed South Harrison 61-45, with the North Harrison Lady Shamrocks taking a ten point victory (42-32) over Maysville.
The consolation semifinals, on Wednesday night from Bethany, will start with the South Harrison Lady Bulldogs playing Maysville at 4:30, followed by the Maysville boys drawing the South Harrison JV at 5:45. The Mercer girls play the South Harrison junior varsity at 7 o’clock, followed by the North Harrison boys going against East Harrison at 8:15.
The Princeton Lady Tigers will be in a 4:30 semifinal (Thursday) against East Harrison, with the North Harrison Lady Shamrocks playing Northeast Nodaway in a 7 o’clock girls semifinal on Thursday night.
