The Missouri Mavericks, facing postseason elimination, claimed a 3-1 win in Allen, Texas on Sunday night, forcing the ECHL second-round series back to Silverstein Eye Centers Arena in Independence for Game 6 on Tuesday night at 7:05.

ECHL Goaltender of the Year Josh Robinson stopped 29 of 30 shots to backstop the Mavericks to the Game 5 triumph.  Allen opened the scoring at the 4:33 mark of the first period on a goal by Gregor Hanson.  The Mavericks tied the game at 1-1 five and 1/2 minutes into the second frame, with Carter Verhaeghe ripping a slapshot into the American goal.

A short-handed tally by Rocco Carzo gave Missouri the lead for good, late in the second period, while a Ross Johnston goal midway through the final period offered the ECHL’s #1 seed needed breathing room.

Tickets for Game 6 in Independence are on sale now at Ticketmaster.com and in-person at the arena box office.  If necessary, Game 7 will be played on Wednesday night at 7:05 in Independence.
