The 89th edition of the Glasgow Basketball Tournament is underway, with the teams from Marceline High School on the opposite sides of the spectrum. The Lady Tigers received the #1 seed, with the MHS boys seeded #8, with the seeds holding according to form in Monday night’s games involving the Tiger teams.
The Marceline girls defeated Westran 58-25, with the Glasgow Lady Yellowjackets claming a 60-48 win over LaPlata. In Tuesday night’s girls quarterfinals, Northeast (Cairo) routed Slater 63-24, with Fayette earning a hard-fought 69-59 final score to defeat New Franklin.
In boys quarterfinal action, the Slater Wildcats rolled past Marceline 61-31, with the Fayette Falcons tipping the Westran Hornets 49-48. On Tuesday evening, Cairo took a 53-31 decision against LaPlata, while New Franklin won decisively over Glasgow 63-40.
