The Kansas City Chiefs secured a 21-7 victory over the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, despite quarterback Patrick Mahomes leaving the game in the fourth quarter with an ankle injury.
Mahomes threw two touchdown passes before exiting the game. X-rays were negative, and Mahomes stated he would undergo rehabilitation and treatment in hopes of playing in the Chiefs’ next game on Saturday.
The Chiefs built a 21-0 lead, capitalizing on six Browns turnovers. Kansas City’s defense held strong, allowing only a 62-yard touchdown run by Jerome Ford.
Browns quarterback Jameis Winston threw three interceptions, and the team’s running back, Nick Chubb, suffered a broken foot. Cleveland coach Kevin Stefanski did not commit to a starting quarterback for the next game.
The Chiefs improved to 13-1, while the Browns fell to 3-11.
