Missouri jumped to No. 9 in the Week 6 AP Poll, surpassing Ole Miss and Utah after both teams suffered home losses Saturday. The Tigers also secured the No. 9 spot in the USA Today coaches poll.
Missouri faces Texas A&M on Saturday in the only ranked matchup of the week. The Tigers, 3-point underdogs, seek their first win at College Station since 2014.
Future Missouri opponents fared well in Week 5. Alabama claimed the top spot with a 41-34 win over Georgia, which dropped to No. 5. Oklahoma rose to No. 19 with a 27-21 victory over Auburn, while Texas A&M fell one spot to tie with UNLV at No. 25.
The Southeastern Conference dominates the AP Poll, occupying four of the top five spots for the fourth consecutive week. This feat was last achieved by the SEC on Oct. 19, 2014.
SEC Network’s “SEC Nation” and “Marty & McGee” will broadcast from College Station on Saturday, alongside “The Paul Finebaum Show” on Friday.
Missouri’s upcoming schedule includes matchups against top-ranked teams, including Alabama. The SEC’s strong showing has nine teams represented in the AP Poll, nearing its record of 10 teams set on Sept. 8, 2015.
