Alex Miller, an outstanding hitter and pitcher for Lexington High School, has signed her national letter of intent to play softball for North Central Missouri College beginning in the fall of 2017. She has been a First Team All-Conference performer all four years of high school and awarded First Team All-District honors for three years.
As a hitter, Miller finished her stellar prep career with a .439 batting average with 15 home runs and 91 runs batted in. The stats only get more impressive when looking at her run prevention skills as a pitcher. During her senior campaign, she logged 127.2 inning with a 1.86 ERA. She was a prolific strikeout pitcher sitting down 204 batters during her senior year and 505 for her career. “Alex will give us a great arm. She has great velocity, throwing in the 60’s with her fastball, and knows how to hit spots as well as mix up speeds. Not only can she throw, she is a POWER hitter. I am excited to see what kind of player she will become as she develops at the college level,” remarked Coach Richman of her hitting and pitching prowess.
On top of how Alex has excelled on the diamond she also leads in the classroom and community. She is a member of the National Honor Society and received All-Academic honors the past four years. “As you look at her achievements, she is a highly decorated player athletically but even more impressive is the volunteer work she has been involved in off the field. She is exactly the kind of student athlete we want to represent NCMC both on and off the field,” commented Richman. Miller has given back to the community by donating her time to help causes such as the local food pantry and the Salvation Army as a bell ringer, among others.
