The Trenton High School girl’s tennis program is starting its second week of practices in preparation for the 2023 season, as former Lady Bulldog basketball coach Kameron Cool takes the reigns of the team from long-time coach Tammy Ockenfels.

Twelve young ladies came out for the first practice on Monday, August 7th, with eyes toward the season opening road trip to Carrollton on Tuesday, August 29th.  The Lady Bulldogs home opener against Savannah will be Thursday, August 31st.

KTTN Sports Director Tom Johnson caught up with Coach Cool after Friday morning’s practice session at the Bosley-Carpenter Courts at Trenton High School:

Trenton will participate in the Carrollton Lady Trojan tennis tournament on Wednesday, September 6th; the Benton Tournament in St. Joseph on Friday, September 8th; the Cameron Tournament on Wednesday, September 13th; and the St. Joseph Lafayette Tournament on Wednesday, September 20th.  The Lady Bulldogs highly-anticipated duel with Chillicothe will take place on the Hornets home court on Thursday, September 21st.  In the regular season, Trenton will have five home events, coming in a three-week stretch between August 31st and September 19th.
