Lawson High School’s Ellie Smith joined the Warrensburg Lady Tigers on the championship level of Wednesday’s Richmond Golf Invitational, played under sunny skies at the Shirkey Course in Richmond.
Smith, on the par 74 18-hole course, shot a round of 92, three strokes better than Madi Jessen of East Buchanan and Allie Phelps of Warrensburg, who tied at 95. The only other sub-100 score came from Lilli Stallings of Summit Christian Academy, with a fourth place 99.
Warrensburg’s team score of 436 was 15 strokes better than the 451 of runner-up Maryville, with Savannah in third place at 454. East Buchanan, at 458, finished in fifth place, with Lawson’s 471 good for 7th.
Trenton High School’s Mari Atup and Josie Chumbley finished toward the bottom half of the individual standings, with Atup shooting 139, tying with Brooklyn Howard of Summit Christian Academy, with Chumbley finishing in 46th place, one stroke back at 140.
