As heard Sunday afternoon on Hot Country Z 101.7, Kyle Larson used a green flag pit stop late in the race to pass Martin Truex Jr., then held off Chase Elliott for a victory at Watkins Glen in up-state New York, ending a two-week break in the NASCAR regular season schedule.

The runner-up finish prevented Elliott from winning for the third consecutive race at “The Glen”, which would have represented his eighth overall road course victory.

Martin Truex Jr., Kyle Busch, and Denny Hamlin rounded out the top five.

Larson also held off Elliott in overtime to win on the road course at Sonoma in June and leaves Watkins Glen tied with Denny Hamlin with 917 points for the series lead.
