Trenton, Missouri – North Central Missouri College athletics proudly boasted three NJCAA Academic All-Americans from its 2016 graduating class. Landon Figg (Higginsville, MO), Madison Trump (Trenton, MO) and Camille Buttorff (Walker, MO) each met the requirements for this prestigious recognition. “Being a student first is a mindset constantly emphasized throughout the athletic department and these three individuals exemplify that,” stated Athletic Director Steve Richman.
Not only did Figg, Trump and Buttorff excel in the classroom but they did so while doing the same for their respective sports. Figg was a staple for the Pirate’s baseball lineup during his two years with a career batting average of .369, 10 home runs, 67 runs scored, and 89 runs batted in.
Trump provided similar stability for the softball squad with career numbers of a .426 batting average, 19 home runs, 109 runs scored, and 112 runs batted in.
Buttorff was a leader on and off the court for Coach Croy’s women’s basketball team. She averaged 10.4 points per game and 6.5 rebounds per game during her sophomore season.
The NJCAA breaks Academic All-Americans into three categories based on cumulative GPA:
Pinnacle Award for Academic Excellence: 4.00 GPA
Superior Academic Achievement Award: 3.80-3.99 GPA
Exemplary Academic Achievement Award: 3.60-3.79 GPA
Figg and Trump were both garnered Pinnacle Award recognition while Buttorff earned Exemplary Award status.
