The North Central Missouri College softball team took a pair of victories over St. Charles on Saturday, by final scores of 9-6 and 9-1, finishing a 3-1 stretch over two days.
On Friday, North Central lost at State Fair 9-1 in a disappointing opener, but rebounded for an 8-4 win over the Roadrunners in the nightcap.
Returning to Griffin Field on Saturday, NCMC rallied from a 5-2 deficit through 3 1/2 innings with three runs to tie the game in the 4th, followed by a pair of runs in the 5th and 6th innings to clinch the win.
Chloe Bell, Caragan Baker, and Rylee Murphy hit homers for the Lady Pirates, with Murray finishing 2-for-3 with 5 RBI’s. Lauren Krohn earned the win from the circle, going seven innings, allowed seven hits, walking six, and striking out six.
The Lady Pirates dominated the nightcap in a 9-1 win. Bell had three hits, with Baker hitting another homer to go with a long ball from Maeve Lavoy. Rylie Boyer was 2-for-3 for the Lady Pirates, who travel to Ottumwa, Iowa to play Indian Hills in a Monday doubleheader, with Jefferson College hosting NCMC in a doubleheader on Saturday, April 22nd.
The NCMC baseball team traveled to Wichita, Kansas for four games against Hesston College, winning 3 of 4 games, including a Sunday sweep by scores of 16-10 and 13-3. The Pirates host Southeast Community College on Wednesday afternoon in 2 o’clock doubleheader action at Burleigh Grimes Field.
