The North Central Missouri College Lady Pirates, trailing 39-32 at the half, outscored the visiting Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) Bears by a 13 point margin in the second half, winning 70-64 in a Friday afternoon matinee from the Ketcham Community Center.

Playing in front of several hundred students from Trenton’s Rissler Elementary School, NCMC rebounded from a Wednesday night loss at Allen County to stay unbeaten at home.  Jessica Retter had a strong game with 26 points for NCMC.  Gladys Brown stuffed the stat sheet with 12 points, 10 rebounds, and 7 assists, to go with three steals.

Des Moines was paced by 23 points from Mary Walker, including six three-point shots.  Chloe Castello had 13, Aunasia Dunn 10 and Joy Beran 10 for DMACC.

The Lady Pirates, having slipped four spots to #15 in Monday’s NJCAA Division Two poll, will play 7th ranked Highland (KS) Community College on Tuesday night from the Ketcham Community Center in Trenton, with the 5:30 tipoff on KGOZ FM 101.7.  North Central will be looking to avenge a season opening loss to the Scotties in northeast Kansas in early November.
