The North Central Missouri College Lady Pirates traveled to Fayette on Monday night and rebounded from Saturday’s loss to Livin’ the Dream, dominating the first half and cruising to an 83-64 win over the Central Methodist University JV.

The halftime advantage for the Lady Pirates was 45-23.  Kortlyn Rounkles led NCMC with 21 points, with Kennedie Kieffer scoring a career-high 20.  North Central, now 4-2 on the season, travels to Kansas City Kansas Community College for a pair of games this weekend, playing Fort Scott on Friday afternoon and the host KCKCC Blue Devils on Saturday.  The “Lady Blue Devils” are currently ranked 4th in the country in NJCAA Division Two.  Saturday’s 4 o’clock contest will be broadcast on Hot Country Z 101.7.

Tuesday night’s NCMC men’s game with the Kansas Christian College JV in Trenton was postponed due to logistical issues with the Falcon team.  The game will be rescheduled for a future date.  The Pirate men will play two games this weekend (Friday and Saturday) at KCK, including Saturday’s 6 o’clock game with the KCKCC Blue Devils, with the broadcast on Hot Country Z 101.7, the radio home of NCMC basketball.

Following Saturday’s loss to nationally ranked (#11) Parkland (Illinois) College, the Pirates remain just out of the top 20 in the latest NJCAA Division Two poll, released on Monday morning.  Johnson County, Kansas is top ranked, followed by Highland (Kansas), North Iowa, Pima (Arizona), and Mott.  Jeremy Esry’s Pirates, with eight points, are ranked 25th in the country.
