Rock Port High School senior, Gretchen Tharp, has signed to join the 2018-19 ladies golf roster.  Tharp’s game has steadily progressed during her prep career.  Capped by qualifying for the 2017 State Tournament, Gretchen was also a two-year Sectional Qualifier, and the recipient of the 275 Conference Scholar Athlete Award.  Off the golf course, Tharp has been extremely active being a member of FBLA, FCCLA, and 4H.  Academically, she is a member of the National Honor Society and has qualified for the Honor Roll all four years.

“I’m excited to have Gretchen joining our program as she is a solid student in the classroom and has been rapidly improving on the course the past couple of seasons.  We will continue working on getting Gretchen comfortable in tournament play and course management, with results that will show balanced scoring.  Gretchen has a great personality that will mesh well with our team and is eager to help our team succeed on and off the course,” commented Head Girls Coach Daniel Cordray.

Coach Daniel Cordray also signed Lauren Quimby to the 2018-19 ladies golf roster.  Quimby, a senior at  Tarkio High School, will be coming in with a lot of momentum having qualified for the HS State Tournament the last three years.  In addition to her state level accomplishments, Lauren was selected to the All-District Team all four years, All-Sectional Team for three seasons, and won the 2016 District Competition.  Quimby has also excelled in the classroom boasting a 3.7GPA, making the Honor Roll all 4 years, and being a 2-year member of the National Honor Society.

“I’m excited to sign Lauren to the Lady Pirate squad.  Lauren is an accomplished golfer that just took up the game during high school.  A family friend got her a golf club for Christmas and she was hooked from that moment.  She dedicates many hours to her game and is on the course playing as many holes as possible.  I feel Lauren’s golf game is going to transition very well to the collegiate ranks.  I look for Lauren to be the leader of our team on the course,” commented Coach Daniel Cordray.
