The combination of lock down defense and bulls eye outside shooting led the Chillicothe Lady Hornets to their second victory of the season, 67-13 over Bishop LeBlond on Monday night in pool play action from the Savannah Tournament.
Future Fort Hays Tiger Whitney Clampitt and fellow senior Hannah Jones combined to hit seven 3 point shots for CHS, who as the team hit 11 shots from “beyond the arc”. Â Clampitt had 18 points and Jones 15.
In other Monday action from Savannah, the Staley Lady Falcons took a victory against the St. Joseph Central JV, while the Maryville boys downed rival Savannah, 44-27 and the Staley boys hammered LeBlond 74-31.
In Tuesday night action, the Savannah boys play Platte County at 4 o’clock, followed by the Maryville girls challenging the Central JV at 5:30. Â The Chillicothe boys battle LeBlond at 7 o’clock, followed by the LeBlond girls against Savannah at 8:30. Â Next action for the Chillicothe girls is Thursday night at 8:30, when the Lady Hornets play Savannah at 8:30. Â The Chillicothe boys play Staley on Thursday night at 7 o’clock.
