Lady Bulldogs look strong in straight set sweep of Lexington

The Trenton Lady Bulldogs built momentum toward next week’s district tournament at Lathrop with a dominating three-set sweep of the host Lexington Minutewomen on Monday night, claiming a 25-13, 25-13, 25-10 victory.

Head coach Brad Ewald told KTTNSports.com that it “was great to he his team play Lexington again, and this time get a win after losing to them in the Lexington Tournament.”

Mackenzie Whipple led THS with eight kills, with Jacole Simpson adding six aces and four digs, while Abby Simpson had 11 assists.

Trenton’s level of competition will ramp up over the next week, with matches against two tough teams from St. Joseph on the horizon.  Tonight (Tuesday night), the Golden Eagles from Bishop LeBlond High School visit THS, with game action starting at 5 o’clock.  The regular season finale against St. Joseph Christian comes up on Monday, October 16th, also at the THS gymnasium.

Trenton’s JV claimed a sweep at Lexington, winning 25-12, 25-21.  The Lady Bulldogs will open district play on Tuesday night, October 17th at Lathrop High School, playing the South Harrison Lady Bulldogs at 5 o’clock on KGOZ FM 101.7.
