ESPN has announced that the early season showdown between college basketball bluebloods Kansas and Kentucky has moved from Chicago to Indianapolis. The game will be played on December 1st at Bankers Life Fieldhouse, the home of the NBA’s Indiana Pacers.
The game between the sixth-ranked Jayhawks and the ninth-ranked Wildcats was to be a part of the season opening Champions Classic, part of a doubleheader on November 10th that was to include Duke playing Michigan State. Instead of moving their game to Indianapolis, Duke will host Michigan State at 6:30 PM on December 1st in Durham, North Carolina.
Indianapolis will also host, on December 2nd, #1 Gonzaga against Tennessee, and the Baylor Bears opposite Illinois.
Kentucky owns a 23-9 all-time edge in the head-to-head series with Kansas, although the Jayhawks have won 3 of the last 4 meetings.
