The Kirksville Tigers were named the 2016 High School Holiday Hoops Sportsmanship Award winners among the boys squads and recognized last week at the final home game in Kirksville. A total of 106 squads competed in the 12th annual event held on the campus of North Central Missouri College in Trenton. Making the presentation to Coach Tyler Martin, his coaching staff and squad were Hoops committee members Ron Dougan, Steve Perry, Mitch Dougan and Steve Maxey. Ron Dougan is the Award Sponsor while Perry was the team host for the Tigers. Maxey is the Hoops Director.
Kirksville High School is the only high school to claim both sportsmanship awards in the history of Holiday Hoops with the girls receiving the award in 2009.
