Kirksville spoils Trenton’s Senior Night, winning 8-1 in boy’s tennis

The Kirksville Tigers defeated the Trenton Bulldogs on Monday afternoon by a score of 8-1, improving to 10-4-1 on the spring tennis season, while dropping THS to 3-6.

Trenton’s bright spot came in the #4 singles match, where Kade Ockenfels downed Kirksville’s Reza Hamidi 10-8.  Kirksville wins were 10-1 for Rusian Pultz over Jacob Davis (#1 singles), 10-love for Bennett Hoshaw over Nick Shields (#2 singles), 10-3 for Aidan Murphy over Bryce Whitney at #3 singles, 10-2 for James Hendler over Creed Houghton at #5 singles, and 10-1 for Andrew Bartholomew against Wyatt Neal at #6 singles.

In doubles play, Kirksville beat Trenton by three straight, identical 8-2 finals.  Hoshaw and Murphy defeated Whitney and Ockenfels, Pultz and Bartholomew beat Neal and Dylan May, while Hamidi and Hendler downed C.J. Sibbit and Dillon Parrack.

The schools played three JV doubles matches against one another, with the Tigers winning all three match-ups by identical 6-1 finals.
