Kansas City Royals designated hitter Kendrys Morales was suspended for Thursday’s game at Tampa Bay, as a result of his actions following an ejection in Tuesday night’s victory over the Rays. However, Morales is expected to be in the Kansas City lineup, having elected to appeal the suspension.
Morales was tossed out in the ninth inning on Tuesday night, but returned to the field. He was fined an undisclosed amount for his actions, according to MLB.com.
Morales is hitting just .242 this season, with 17 home runs and 50 RBI’s. The Royals won Tuesday night’s game at Tampa Bay by a score of 3-2, before being blown away by the Rays on Wednesday night, 12-0. The final game of the series at Tropicana Field started at 11:10 this (Thursday) morning, and can be heard locally on KTTN AM 1600.
