The Kansas City Royals, in partnership with the Texas Rangers and Surprise Stadium, have unveiled the game times for their 31-game exhibition schedule for the 2024 season. The Royals will kick off their 22nd season in the Cactus League on Friday, Feb. 23, as the away team against the Texas Rangers at Surprise Stadium.
The Royals’ schedule includes 15 home games at Surprise Stadium and 2 games as the visiting team against the Rangers. Notably, the team will host 2 night games during Cactus League play, one against the Chicago Cubs on Tuesday, March 5, at 7:05 p.m. CT and another against the Los Angeles Angels on Wednesday, March 20, at 8:05 p.m. CT.
During the early part of the spring, seven of the Royals’ first eight home games will commence at 2:05 p.m. CT. Starting on Sunday, March 10, after Daylight Saving Time begins, 5 of the remaining 7 home games are scheduled for 3:05 p.m. CT.
The Royals will face almost all the teams in the Cactus League at least twice, with 4 games each against the Rangers and 3 games against the Guardians, Angels, Cubs, and Rockies. Additionally, they are scheduled for 2 games against the White Sox, Athletics, Mariners, Diamondbacks, Giants, Reds, and Brewers. The Royals will play a single game against the Padres and are not slated to face the Dodgers.
The team will have two off days during the spring, on Monday, March 4, and Monday, March 18. They will also participate in three split-squad dates, playing 2 games each on Tuesday, Feb. 27, Friday, March 15, and Thursday, March 21.
The Royals’ spring finale is set for 2:05 p.m. CT on Saturday, March 23, against the Rangers. Following a four-day break, the Royals will kick off their regular season on Thursday, March 28, at Kauffman Stadium against the Minnesota Twins.
Tickets for Spring Training single games will be available to the general public starting Tuesday, Nov. 14, with prices as low as $8. In-person ticket sales at the Surprise Stadium Box Office will commence on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2024, starting at 8 a.m. MST. The box office is located at 15960 N. Bullard Ave.
