The Big 12 Conference champion Kansas State Wildcats have reworked the contract of football coach Chris Klieman, with a new eight-deal deal paying him an average of $5.5 million per year. Klieman’s original contract with KSU paid him $4 million a season through 2026.
The 55-year old Klieman took the opening in Manhattan after a successful run in the 2010’s at North Dakota State, with four national championships in five years in the Football Championship Subdivision.
Consistent improvement at Kansas State for Klieman saw the Wildcat program win the 2022 Big 12 championship over TCU. In four seasons at K-State, Klieman is now 30-20. The 2023 Wildcats open the season at Bill Snyder Family Stadium against Southeast Missouri State on Saturday, September 2nd, before a trip to Columbia, Missouri to play the SEC’s Missouri Tigers on September 9th.
